 Constitution of India 

* Legislative Power:- Power to make Rules/Laws. 

-> Rules of selection of people for law Making.

* Execution Power:- Power to implement Rules/Law.

-> Rules of selection of people from execution of law.

* Judicial Power:- To Interpret Rules/Law.

-> Rules of selection of people for Interpretation of Laws. 


Making of Indian Constitution 

* M.N Roy in 1934 first proposed the idea of Constituent assembly. 

* 1935 India National Congresse officially demanded for constituent.

* 1938 Jawahar Lal Nehru demanded constituent assembly must be framed.

* 1940 This demanded was accepted by the British Government which is know as august offer.

* 1942 Sir Stafford cripps came with proposal for formulating a constitution after world War 2 but rejected by Muslim league. 

* 1946 Under cabinet mission plan election was held to formulate constituent assembly.


Constituent Assembly 

* Initially the number of members was 389 after partition it came down to 299.

* The first meeting of constituent assembly was held on 9 December 1946.

* Dr.Sachidanand Sinha was the first temporary chairman of constituent assembly. 

* Later on 11 December 1946 Dr.Rajendra Prasad was elected as prmant chairman of constituent assembly. 

* H.C Moherjee and V.T krishnamachari were the vice president of Constituent assembly. 

* B.N Rao was constitutional adviser.


Objective Resolution 

* Introduced by Jawahar Lal Nehru in the very first session of the constituent assembly on 13 Dec 1946.

* Adopted by constituent assembly on 22 January 1947.


Major Committee of Constituent Assembly 

1). Union Powers Committee:- Jawahar Lal Nehru. 

2). Union Constitution Committee:- Jawahar Lal Nehru. 

3). Provincial Constitution Committee:- Sadar Patel.

4). Drafting Committee:- Dr.B.R Ambekar.

5). Rules of Procedure Committee:- Dr.Rajendra Prasad. 

6).States Committee ( Committee for Negotiating with states ) :-  Jawahar Lal Nehru. 

7). Steering Committee:- Dr.Rajendra Prasad.

8). Advisory Committee on Fundamental Right,Minorities and Tribal and Excluded Areas Sardar Patel.This Committee had the following Sub - Committee.

a). Fundamental Right Sub-Committee :- J.B.Kripalani.

b).Minorities Sub-Committee :- H.C Mukerjee.

c). North - East Frontier Tribal Areas and Assam excluded & Partially Excluded Areas Sub-Committee:- Gopinath Bardoloi.

d). Excluded and Partially Excluded ( other than those in Assam ) sub-committe :- A.V thakkar.
